Officer Georgia Ann Robinson

In 1916 Georgia Ann Robinson (1879-1961) was appointed the nation's first sworn female African-American police officer. She worked for the Los Angeles Police Department. She retired after 13 years to prefer social work for the Sojourner Truth House of Los Angeles.
