How I Designed A Beer Can Label
I was approached by Modern Methods Brewing Company to design a label for their new beer, Bijou Belgian Witbier and Bijou Belgian Witbier With Tangerine. The design for the beer can required an illustration of the house where the brewmaster got his start and his dog, Bijou.

I sent three sketches to the owners for their review (below). The selected design and illustration was created by hand using a ruling pen and ink. I used a pointed pen to design the hand lettering. The overall design was assembled and colored in Photoshop. To show the difference between the beers I replaced the letter O in Bijou, the beer’s name, with a slice of tangerine. Later, Modern Methods added a third flavor for their Bijou brand, peach. The letter O became into a peach.
