Concord Jazz Landmarks Map

Celebrating 50 Years Of Jazz

While Alex was working on the VisitConcord map he was contacted by the committee for the Concord Jazz Festival. The festival was celebrating its 50th anniversary. The committee wanted to highlight the city’s historical link to jazz music and the jazz record industry.

Concord Jazz Festival was started by car salesman Carl Jefferson because of his love and appreciation of jazz. Jefferson would start Concord Jazz Records. The internationally recognized label became known for the music style called straight-ahead jazz, and it offered many of his favorite musicians an outlet for recording.
