Illustrated Portraits Through Sneakers And Footwear

This Is How My Colleagues Express Their Individuality

To assert their individuality at work my colleagues wear painted and decorated fingernails, share intricate tattoos, flash blingy jewelry and piercings and dye their hair. Footwear is another way my colleagues express themselves. I focused on their sneakers and their less traditional footwear. I think of their footwear as non-representational portraiture.

The first pairs of sneakers I illustrated (top row and second row) were bright and decorative, seemingly impractical as sneakers. After I finished it I noticed sneakers other coworkers wore. Their sneakers were made by a variety of manufacturers. Their footwear expressed the pulse of the store. Look around your workplace to see how your colleagues express themselves. You won’t be disappointed.
