Three non profit organization in Warren, Ohio, put out a call to artists for a design of a mural or banner. It would be placed on the side of a local neighborhood corner grocery store. The theme for the mural should highlight healthy lifestyle or food options. This corner grocery store and others in Warren provide fresh produce and healthier food options to local neighborhoods that once were food deserts.

I choose to illustrate a process toward living a healthier lifestyle. I know small steps make big differences. That’s how I achieved my health and fitness goals.

I reside in California and the world is experiencing a pandemic. For the safety of my family I didn’t travel at the time. Also the logistics of gathering supplies and coordinating equipment for delivery would be difficult. I chose a banner as the medium. I worked with a sign maker in Warren to test, print and install this banner.

We met the deadline for the project’s completion. The banner was installed before the onset of winter. Ultimately the non profit organizations were satisfied with the result.
