Before portraiture Alex created illustrations of sneakers and shoes worn by many of the people who crossed his path. Footwear defined individual style. Later he looked upward to focus on the individual with portraiture. He never looked back. Alex included his subjects’ histories in his work. They’re business owners, artists, students, and parents. They’re smart, confident, and hard workers.
